Step 1 — Preview
Students preview new vocabulary and grammar before class using a short interactive lesson they can watch on any device.
This helps students arrive to class ready to participate and speak with confidence.
Step 2 — Learn
During the live class, students actively use the new language through speaking practice, role-playing, reading activities, and discussions with their teacher and classmates.
Small groups ensure every child participates and practices speaking.
Step 3 — Practice
After class, students complete short workbook activities that reinforce vocabulary, spelling, and grammar learned in the lesson.

Our Structured Beginner English Curriculum
Abridge Academy is the structured curriculum used in Talking Stars lessons. It combines interactive activities, speaking practice, and step-by-step language development to help children build real confidence in English.
The curriculum is aligned with the internationally recognized CEFR framework used by schools and language programs around the world.
The curriculum includes 6 step-by-step levels that guide students from Pre-A1 (including phonics) through A2. As students progress, they develop the speaking, vocabulary, and grammar foundations needed for exams such as Cambridge Young Learners.
Each level includes approximately 60 lessons. With two classes per week, most students complete a level in about 7 months.

I created Talking Stars English to help children build real confidence speaking English with a native speaker — all from the comfort of their own home.
As a language learner myself, I understand how challenging it can feel to speak a new language. I also know how powerful it is when students finally feel confident communicating with native speakers.
For the past 6 years, I’ve been teaching English online to children from 15 different countries around the world. I’m TEFL certified, and as a parent supporting my own children as they learn Arabic, Spanish, and French, I understand firsthand how important it is to build a strong language foundation early.
That’s why Talking Stars focuses on beginner learners (Pre-A1 to A2). When children start speaking early, they develop natural pronunciation, confidence, and strong communication skills that support them as they progress in English.
My goal is simple: to help every student feel comfortable, confident, and excited to speak English.

What age group is the course for?
The course is designed for children ages 6–12 who are learning beginner English.

My child is shy. Will they still participate?
Small group classes (3–4 students) give every child time to speak. Many shy students become more confident after a few lessons as they practice in a supportive environment.

Talking Stars English follows a flipped classroom approach.
Before class
Students preview new vocabulary and grammar through a short audio lesson and vocabulary games.
During class
Students practice using the new language through speaking activities, role-play, and guided discussion.
After class

What technology do we need for online classes?
Students will need:
• A laptop or desktop computer
• A working webcam and microphone

Supported devices:

Unsupported devices:
Mobile phones and most Android tablets (for example Huawei tablets).
